And … it’s time to party!

133Wow! I can’t believe that it has been two weeks since my debut novel, LOVE IN TRANSLATION, went on sale! I have been blown away by the massive amounts of love and support that everyone has sent my way and I feel like the luckiest gal on the planet right now. I am about to go on my blog tour in mid-March and am planning on having a few official book signings in April and May. Can someone pinch me please? This all still feels unreal.

And, to celebrate my book publication, I got together with my family in San Antonio to celebrate. We meet up at a place called THE COVE (which is very Austin-like) and I had the best time hanging out with all of the people that I love so much! I thought I would share some pictures with you all.

Leaving on a jet plane … and going on tour!

Love_in_Translation_CoverI have had the most amazing week and it is all thanks to you all! I still can’t believe that it has been one week since LOVE IN TRANSLATION was officially published. I cannot believe the outpouring of support that I have received and I hope that everyone is enjoying the book so far. Starting in early March, I will be going on tour online (not on a jet plane, but maybe one day in the future) with a group of lovely bloggers who have gracefully offered to host me and my book. Most of them will be reading/reviewing the book but a few of them will also be featuring me in an interview or on a guest post. I will be posting the items daily on here as well as on Facebook and Twitter. Also, as an added bonus just to show my appreciation for your support, leave a comment (any comment) on this posting to be entered to win a signed, autographed copy of LOVE IN TRANSLATION. I will choose a winner by Friday morning. And, stay tuned because I have a lot of really awesome and fun prizes that I will be giving away in the coming weeks.

Love In Translation Sights: Barton Creek Greenbelt

barton 2One of the pivotal scenes in the book between Andres and Emily takes place on the Barton Creek Greenbelt (and is also the inspiration behind the book cover). So, I thought it would be fun to give you a little background and some imagery to help you along when you read that particular scene in the book.

Bluebonnets_INow, if you don’t live in Austin, you are definitely missing out … and the greenbelt is definitely one of those reasons. There are dozens of places to hike in the city but this place is by far my favorite, and come springtime, the city usually hits the outdoors with full force after being cooped up after weeks (or a few days) of cooler temps.

Barton(1)Here is a little bit about the greenbelt from Wikipedia: The Barton Creek Greenbelt, located in Austin, Texas is managed by the City of Austin’s Park and Recreation Department and is considered the seventh best hiking trail in Texas.1 The Greenbelt is a 7.25-mile (11.67 km) stretch of public land that begins at Zilker Park and stretches South/Southwest to the final section commonly referred to as “The Hill of Life” which ends in the Woods of Westlake subdivision.2 The Barton Creek Greenbelt consists of three areas: the Lower Greenbelt, the Upper Greenbelt and the Barton Creek Wilderness Park and is characterized by large limestone cliffs, dense foliage, and shallow bodies of water.

Popular Barton Creek Greenbelt locations include: Twin Falls, Campbell’s Hole, The Flats, Gus Fruh, and Sculpture Falls.
